Isn't Online Marketing Really Expensive?

No.

And the real question that should be asked is:

Do Online Marketing Ads Provide the Best Return on Investment?

The answer to the above question is Yes..

As shown in the chart below, the cost per lead for Online Marketing is less than that of all other major advertising mediums.

Online Marketing offers the best return on investment of all major marketing vehicles.

Compared to other forms of advertising, Online Marketing is actually less expensive. When you consider that you can spend thousands of dollars for a small listing in the phone book – or on a one time ad in the Denver Post – Online Marketing is relatively cheap. You pay when someone clicks on your advertisement, and you pay a marketing company to create and manage your Online Marketing campaigns.

Can I still do Online Marketing on a Very Low Budget?

Yes.

There are ways that you can at least get started with Online Marketing to help ensure that search engines are aware that your business exists. I actually give away a lot of great instructional videos on my website that can help you get started with Online Marketing. All of my instructional resources are completely free and can be found in the Denver Marketing Resources section.

Do I need to have a web presence?

Yes – but this doesn’t mean that you need to have a huge website with all the bells and whistles.

You will need to have a domain name and a web page for your clients to see when they click on one of your Online Marketing ads. But - depending on the nature of your business, you may not need to have an elaborate website. In many cases, a single web page will do the trick and can be very effective at generating leads for a business.

Are You Going to Promise to Get Me the Top Ranking on Google?

No.

Beware of anyone who offers you top rankings in search engines. Search engine rankings are only part of what I do, and I’ll only attempt to get a website to rank well if a website has good content. I don’t believe in trying to game the search engines – and anyone who promises great search engine rankings without getting to know you and your business goals is probably not someone you’d like to do business with.

Don't Trust Anyone Who Promises Top Rankings!

Website owners are increasingly getting spam emails from companies who promise to get them top rankings in search engines.

In order to run a proper Search Engine Optimization campaign, I meet with the business owner personally. I learn what they do. I learn about the competitive landscape. I look at their website content and decide what keyword phrases might be worthwhile to rank for. If the client is willing to continually update their website with quality content - then SEO *may* be worth the trouble.

Even then, depending on the market conditions, it may make more sense to invest online marketing dollars elsewhere (besides SEO). Pay-Per-Click typically provides quicker, more measurable results and is usually a better place to start than SEO.
