While the study is anecdotal and not strictly scientific, it is certainly interesting. The conclusion is that exact match search will provide the great majority of the search traffic, but type-in traffic can be somewhat beneficial as well - especially if the domain name isn't very long.

If you are able to find a popular keyword rich domain name for your Denver business, it can provide a bit more traffic through bout exact match search and type in traffic. It is great to get any advantage you can when it comes to search engine results pages, so by all means see if you can find an exact match domain name that will work for your Denver small business.

The domain name is great and can be helpful, but it is only one small piece of a much larger picture. The key to having a great website that works for your business is building out relevant content that your website visitors will find useful. If you have a great, informative website, it will go a long way towards ensuring that your website appears high up for relevant search phrases.
